GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER No.: 2018-09 Preparation for multiple arrest incident

On the basis of recent public statements by local law enforcement officials and a
representative of persons planning acts of "civil disobedience" that, beginning at approximately
12:00 p.m., would obstruct or block traffic along a route beginning on the Kennedy Expressway
(U.S. Interstate Highways 90 and 190) at Cumberland Avenue (Illinois Route 171, Exit 79B) in
the city of Chicago and ending at East River Road in the village of Rosemont on
September 3, 2018; (Labor Day legal holiday), and in anticipation that the court's usual
afternoon operations may be inadequate for hearing the new cases resulting from any arrests
arising from this incident; and in the interest of the fair and orderly administration of justice for
all concerned,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, on September 3, 2018, the court shall operate pursuant to the
provisions of Cook Co. Cir. Ct. G.O. 18.l through 18.14 (G.O. 18) by preparing accordingly for
multiple arrests; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, on September-3, 2018, all authority and duties assigned by
G.0. 18 to the "Presiding Judge" for operations at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse,
2600 S. California Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, or in the court's Second Municipal District are
hereby assigned to the Presiding Judge of the court's Pretrial Division.

Dated this 31st day of August, 2018, and effective immediately.
