The Civil Jury Section of the First Municipal District hears suits seeking monetary damages of $30,000 or less in which the parties involved have opted to have a jury decide their case. 

The Civil Jury Section courtrooms are 409, 1304, 1306, 1310, 1403, 1409, 1410, 1505, and 1510 in the Richard J. Daley Center, as assigned in courtroom 1501. Cases are initially assigned to Courtroom 1501 for all pre-trial matters. Pursuant to Illinois Supreme Rules 86 et seq., select cases, including civil lawsuits with a jury demand on file, must participate in arbitration proceedings through the Circuit Court’s Mandatory Arbitration Program.
