The Juvenile Justice Division of the Juvenile Justice and Child Protection Department is established pursuant to the Circuit Court of Cook County General Order 1.2,2.2(a). Cases heard in the Juvenile Justice Division involve delinquent minors under 18 years of age and include:
The Juvenile Justice Division has an array of services that can be ordered by the court to help rehabilitate the minor. These services are monitored by the court's Juvenile Probation and Court Services Department. These services are designed to protect the community, impose accountability for delinquent behavior, and equip minors with competencies to live responsibly and productively.
The Juvenile Justice Division hears cases involving delinquent minors under 18 years of age. A delinquent youth is any minor who, prior to his or her 18th birthday, has violated any federal or state law, county or municipal ordinance.
