GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO.: 2018-01 Rescheduling, Weather Emergency
Due to extreme and dangerous weather conditions resulting in the closing of all courthouses and
related operations on Friday, February 9, 2018,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, unless otherwise specified below, all traffic and criminal
matters scheduled for court appearances on February 9, 2018, are rescheduled and continued
until the same times and in the same courtrooms as follows:
CRIMINAL DIVISION
1. All cases in all Districts of defendants who are in the custody of the Cook County
Department of Corrections or the Illinois Department of Corrections are continued until
Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
2. All cases in all Districts of defendants released on bail shall be rescheduled by the judge
presiding, and the defendants shall be notified by the circuit clerk.
PRETRIAL DIVISION and FIRST MUNICIPAL DISTRICT (City of Chicago)
3. All misdemeanor cases in a First Municipal District preliminary hearing courtroom or in
Branch 3 of defendants in the custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections are
continued until Tuesday, February 13, 2018
4. All felony cases in Branches 2, 66, and 98 of defendants in the custody of the Cook
County Department of Corrections are continued until Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
5. All felony cases in Branches 2, 66, and 98 of defendants released on bail shall be
rescheduled by the judge presiding, and the defendants shall be notified by the circuit
clerk.
6. All misdemeanor, ordinance, or traffic cases of defendants released on bail are hereby
continued until the next key date, and the defendants shall be notified by the circuit clerk.
MUNICIPAL DISTRICTS 2-6 (All Suburban Districts)
7. All traffic, misdemeanor, preliminary hearing, and felony cases of defendants in the
custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections are continued until Tuesday,
February 13, 2018.
8. All felony cases of defendants released on bail shall be rescheduled by the judge
presiding, and the defendants shall be notified by the circuit clerk.
9. All traffic, misdemeanor. and preliminary hearing cases of defendants released on bail are
continued until the next key date , and the defendants shall be notified by the circuit
clerk.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DIVISION
10. All cases in Branch 64 of defendants in the custody of the Cook County Department of
Corrections are continued until Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
11. All misdemeanor cases in courtrooms located at 555 West Harrison Street, Chicago, of
defendants in the custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections are continued
until Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
12. All misdemeanor cases in courtrooms located at 555 West Harrison Street, Chicago, of
defendants released on bail shall be rescheduled by the judge presiding, and the
defendants shall be notified by the circuit clerk.
