Fifth Municipal District Courthouse in Bridgeview Closed Due to Weather-Related Power Outage; Most Cases Will Get New Dates

Due to a weather-related power outage which has closed the Fifth Municipal District courthouse in Bridgeview on Friday, all Fifth District misdemeanor, civil, traffic, and felony cases will receive other dates, said Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans and Fifth Municipal District Presiding Judge Kerry M. Kennedy.
For misdemeanor and traffic cases, the Circuit Court Clerk will notify defendants of their next court dates, said Judge Kennedy.
All civil cases will be continued until Tuesday, Jan. 16, unless already continued.
Initial appearances in Domestic Violence cases shall be heard at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse, while new petitions for emergency civil protective orders will go to the Domestic Violence Division courthouse at 555 W. Harrison St. All other pending Domestic Violence cases will be moved to next Wednesday, Jan. 17.
Felony cases will be continued until next Friday, Jan. 19. Initial appearances in all criminal cases will be moved to the Leighton Criminal Courthouse at 2600 S. California Ave.
All other courthouses are open on Friday. However, in the Third Municipal District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows, all participants and witnesses can participate via video conference or Zoom. Access to Zoom proceedings in the Third Municipal District can be found here.
